Prof. Dr. Natasja de Groot, cardiologist-electrophysiologist is appointed at Erasmus University Medical Center and Delft University of Technology. She is chief of the research unit Translational Electrophysiology, department of Cardiology. Her research focusses on unravelling electrical mechanism of cardiac arrhythmias, particularly arrhythmias in (pediatric) patients with congenital heart disease and (post-operative) atrial fibrillation. For this purpose, she has developed unique signal recording and processing technologies.With insights obtained from these technologoies, she develops, test and implements novel diagnostic instruments and therapies. She is Fellow of the EHRA, co-chair EHRA 2025 and is involved in writing various international guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology, European Heart Rhythm Association and Heart Rhythm Society. In her clinical work, she focusses on ablation therapy of patients with congenital heart disease and atrial tachyarrhythmias.
